After testing various variations of this option, Instagram has officially added a new list of suggested posts at the end of your main feed so that every time you view all the latest updates from the people and profiles you follow.
As you can see here, the new suggested channel stems from the “You got it all” notification that Instagram added back in 2018. This notification is in line with Facebook’s time wasted approach, which aims to keep users informed about how they are spending their time in the app, and the notification serves as a hint that you do not need to continue scrolling as you catch up with the latest information.
But if you really want to keep scrolling, now you can, and Instagram can use it as a vehicle to show you knew a content that might include ads.
As Instagram (TechCrunch) explained:
Our goal is to make it clear when you’re all busy so you can decide how best to use your time. We see people keep looking for more posts they are interested in after viewing their feeds, so we wanted to learn from this and make it easier for those who decided to do it.

Which seems a little counterintuitive based on the original goal of the notified You’re all caught. But obviously, based on initial tests, Instagram found it to be effective in increasing reach and keeping users engaged.
These two elements seem to contradict each other, but Instagram has clearly found value in this version.
As noted, Instagram has been testing versions of this option over the past few years, including a new one spotted back in June that splits the feed into two tabs – Suggested and Older posts.
At this point, Instagram doesn’t seem to support this version, but you can view it by scrolling down the page to see the suggested posts, or by clicking the “View old posts” link in the tooltip that appears.
In terms of business benefits, a key point here might be Instagram’s ability to showcase product posts based on people’s past searches.
As Instagram moves more towards e-commerce and people start to use the platform to browse and shop, the recommendations added here can connect more sellers with more interested buyers, highlighting similar products and trends that match their past searches. Instagram has also stated that it will serve ads on some of these expanded listings, providing more reach options.
Some users will object to the update as they will only want to see posts from the profiles they follow in their main feed, but this can be useful, especially if Instagram can get its recommendations right.
Once again, Instagram must have received a positive response in testing. This may seem a little intrusive to some, but it can be helpful in many ways.
