After years of working within the limits and try to find ways to make a bigger dip in e-commerce, pandemic COVID-19 has finally given Facebook the momentum needed to take the next important step.
Facebook has launched ‘Stores’ on both Facebook and Instagram.
As Facebook explains:
Facebook stores help companies create a unique online store for customers to access both Facebook and Instagram. Create a shop on Facebook is free and easy. Companies can choose the products they want to include in your catalog and then customize the look of your store with a cover image and accent colors to show their brand. This means that any vendor, regardless of size or budget, can take your business online and connect with customers wherever and whenever it is convenient for them.
Soon, Facebook will provide eligible businesses a link to a new platform ‘Shop Builder’, an extension of their tool’s existing Facebook page. From Shop Builder, companies can upload your product listings one by one, or connect to your e-commerce provider exists to transmit through its current catalog: Facebook works with Shopify, BigCommerce, WooCommerce, ChannelAdvisor, CedCommerce, Cafe24, Shop Cloud and Feedonomics to facilitate this process.
The main objective of Facebook will be to simplify this process as much as possible to maximize commercial acceptance of the Stores option. From a single platform, brands will be able to build their stores, both on Facebook and Instagram, but it will not be available to everyone immediately.

Starting today, we will begin a gradual rollout of stores for all businesses globally on Facebook and Instagram Shopping. We will begin with eligible businesses using the Instagram profile stores and expand access over the next few months. There is no definitive word on when each region and/or business will be able to access the stores, but as noted, Facebook will inform page managers, over time, as it adds more.
